Construction Safety at the CSB Project: Coronavirus Rsponse Site-Specific Safety Plan
Construction activity at the CSB project was on hold from March 17, 2020 to April 19, 2020. This essential UCSF project is continuing construction with a coronavirus response site-specific safety plan that meets the requirements set forth in the City and County of San Francisco orders.
Specific safety measures for the CSB project include:
- Screening of anyone entering the job site each time they enter
- Specific screening entrances for workers located near Magnolia Court on the interior of campus and from Parnassus Avenue
- Physical distancing at all times. If a work activity does not allow for physical distancing, additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as full face shields will be worn and specific procedures will be followed
- Additional ongoing training to reinforce the importance of physical distancing, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette to all employees
- Contractor-provided cleaning stations where employees can wash their hands for breaks/meals
- Hand sanitizer stations with at least 60% alcohol located throughout the work areas along with the other hand washing stations
- Staggered start times to reduce check in lines
- Staggered break times to reduce the number of workers in break areas at a single time
- Routine cleaning on the site includes frequently touched surfaces
All UCSF construction sites are being audited on a regular basis for compliance to safety plans.
